Manchester United are a side struggling to score goals at this point in time, and that is largely down to Wayne Rooney being completely unable to do anything remotely productive. One of the best strikers in Premier League history – Paulo Di Canio, has had his say on the situation.
“Wayne Rooney looks like he is on the decline. He has lost the energy that made him a great player.” Di Canio said. “Man United are in a tunnel and are weighed down by all the money they have spent in the last 18 months.” He added.
Unfortunately you find it hard to disagree with the Italian. Wayne Rooney has been struggling massively this term and it has been quite clear for all to see. He looks lacking in pace and any real belief in his ability, and if he plans to beat Sir Bobby Charlton’s brilliant goalscoring record, he has to get his shooting boots back on, and soon.
