Manchester United key player set for summer exit

Manchester United have found somewhat of a problem position at the right-back slot this season, with Louis van Gaal opting for the hardworking Antonio Valencia instead of the more natural defender Rafael da Silva.

The twin has found his playing time extremely limited this term, and according to the Daily Mail, its likely that he will be one of many casualties on their way out of Old Trafford this summer.

Its widely expected that United will bring in a new right-back, and at the moment its looking like Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne is the number one target for the Iron Tulip.

That’d leave Rafael as the third choice, and it’d take a huge injury crisis for him to fight his way back into the side.

Its a shame really, as he was without doubt one of the key figures in Manchester United’s historic 20th title, but he has seemingly gone backwards.

Its probably best for all involved if he were to move on this summer. He needs regular playing time, and United need a consistent right-back who can nail down that spot in the side.
