Manchester United’s former captain Roy Keane always has his say on any controversial topics at the club, and as you’d expect, he has spoken out about the events following United being dumped out of the Champions League.
“They have a lot of good players, there is no getting away from that, but they are not good enough for Manchester United.” Roy Keane began. “You look at the recruitment, they’ve thrown decent money at it, no special players at the moment.”
“They seem to be lacking a few characters, a few leaders. I think they lack real quality.” He added. “The manager’s getting a lot of criticism and I think the players are hiding behind that.”
Roy Keane often can rub Manchester United fans up the wrong way with some of his comments, but he’s spot on here. The club have thrown money around, and many still feel we are a couple of players away from making a real title challenge.
Several players (namely Wayne Rooney) are underperforming at the moment, and Louis van Gaal is certainly taking all the flak for everything that is happening at the club.
