Manchester United legend slams Wayne Rooney

Manchester United struggled to a 0-0 draw at home to PSV Eindhoven last night, with the side getting slammed left, right and centre by the press afterwards. One of the pundits on the panel was Roy Keane, and he clearly wasn’t happy with Wayne Rooney’s individual display.

“Rooney was on about lack of composure and quality, but I think he was as guilty as anybody. He needs to step up to the plate.” Keane began. “You look at Wayne’s legacy at Old Trafford, it’s absolutely fantastic, his goals record is brilliant.”

“But now he’s the captain there’s more responsibility and I think he’s got to do a lot more.”

You cannot really argue with what Roy Keane is saying either. Rooney’s form has been so poor since the start of the season, and once again he looked lacklustre last night.

He needs to work harder, put in a string of good performances and start leading this team from the front.
