The transfer window is over, and Manchester United go into the new season with six fresh faces that have drastically improved our squad, whilst clearing out some of the deadwood. All-in-all it was a decent window, but a couple more faces and it could’ve been absolutely perfect.
According to the BBC, one player Manchester United were looking at was the German international and Borrusia Dortmund star Marcos Reus. The British publication go on to say that Louis van Gaal ‘liked’ Reus, but no official bid was made – this was thought to be down to their high asking price for the 26-year old.
Marco Reus is one of those special players that could improve any team in world football. He has bags of pace, a cutting edge of a pass, and an inch-perfect shot. You can see exactly why Borussia Dortmund want to keep hold of their fan-favourite and would probably reject anything but a huge offer for him.
Its a shame that Manchester United weren’t able to lure him to Old Trafford this summer, but who knows, this move could happen in the future as Louis van Gaal is clearly keen.
