According to the usually reliable Mark Ogden who writes for the Telegraph, Manchester United are looking to add three midfielders to the squad before the window shuts in two days time. Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Daniele de Rossi, all of which are a mouthwatering prospect for United fans.
Moyes has already seen his €30m for Ander Herrera turned down by Athletic Bilabo, but is expected to return with a €36 million offer which releases the players buyout clause.
Also on the radar is Everton’s Marouane Fellaini. Sky Sports claim that United are edging closer to a deal for the big Belgian, and the fee is expected to be around £25m for the 25-year old. Bizarrely the Everton man also had a release clause in his contract, one that stood at £23m and Moyes chose not to activate it. Maybe the Scot thought he could get Fellaini in for cheaper? I guess we’ll never know, but Fellaini is expected to play his last Everton game against Cardiff this afternoon.
Third up is perhaps the most exciting one, Roma’s Daniele de Rossi. The 30-year old is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world, but you get the feeling he wants to be another Totti and stay at Roma all his career. United reportedly had a €12m turned down for the Italian defensive midfielder, and is it thought Moyes will up his bid to €15m in an attempt to lure Roma into a possible sale.
Mark Ogden is never way off the mark when it comes to United news, so keep an eye on this one!
