Manchester United are weighing up a shock move for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson, who the Red Devils view as a replacement for David de Gea.
Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by The Metro, reckons that Jose Mourinho has put the feelers out regarding a move for the Brazilian, with the £70million-rated goalkeeper attracting huge interest from Liverpool.
Until the move eventually happens, De Gea is going to be linked with a move to Real Madrid every single summer, hence why talk of United moving in for a new goalkeeper is always going to appear in the gossip columns.
Obviously, in an ideal world, we’d all love to keep De Gea for the rest of his professional career. That’s easier said than done though and at some point I think we’re all expecting him to move back to Spain.
In terms of replacements, United could do a whole lot worse than Alisson. The AS Roma man has been absolutely sensational for his club this term, and it says an awful lot that he’s keeping Manchester City’s Ederson out of the Brazil team at present.
One thing that does put me off is the £70million asking price. That’s absolutely extortionate for a goalkeeper, even in the modern-day.
