Manchester United Football Club won the FA Cup just over a week ago now, with Louis van Gaal delivering the club their first piece of silverware. One of the key men in that side was Daley Blind, and recently he has been nursing a minor calf injury.
Now the versatile Dutchman must be feeling the pain level rise somewhat recently, as he missed Holland’s friendly just gone. Now his international manager (and father), Danny Blind, has said that Daley will now miss his countries upcoming game against Austria due to the same problem.

He’ll likely sit out the next friendly (against Austria on Saturday) too. Danny Blind: ‘We’re not going to take any unnecessary risks.’

At the end of the day, this is definitely the best thing for the player. Blind played way over fifty games for the club this season and that will obviously take its toll.
Thankfully his nation didn’t qualify for the European Championships, so that means Daley will get the summer off, and he’ll be fit and ready to go for his first pre-season under Jose Mourinho.
