Manchester United man tells Jose Mourinho that he plans to leave this summer: report

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is after a new challenge, and he’s told Jose Mourinho that he plans to leave Old Trafford this summer.

That’s according to Calciomercato, translated excellently by the brilliant Sport Witness. Fellaini is attracting huge interest, with clubs including AC Milan, Napoli Galatasaray and Besiktas all keen.

Being a free agent in the summer, the ball is firmly in the player’s court. Fellaini holds all the power, and I genuinely wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to leave United for pastures new.

He’s spent five years his now, and throughout that time, the fans have never really fully taken to the former Everton man. Why on earth would he want to stick around under those circumstances when he can move away and potentially become a hero elsewhere?

This latest news will no doubt be pleasing to many Red Devils supporters for that very reason. Large portions have always labelled him ‘not a proper Manchester United player’ and no doubt they’ll be happy to see the back of him.

Personally, I’ve always felt that he’s gotten a raw deal at United. As a player, he’s always given absolutely everything for the cause and as a plan B there are certainly worse options to have.
