Manchester United man to have medical today ahead of a move away from Old Trafford

Manchester United Football Club seems to be closing in on the sale of the talented winger, Memphis Depay. The Dutchman signed for the Red Devils when Louis van Gaal was in charge, but it’s fair to say his time here has been an absolute nightmare.

Last night, Sky Sports confirmed that the clubs had agree a fee that’ll see Depay switch to Lyon in France, and now we’ve been given a further update from Mohamed Bouhafsi – a French journalist who is usually very reliable.

Bouhafsi says that Depay will sign his Lyon contract, and visit France to undergo his medical with the Ligue 1 side.

What’s also interesting is that Bouhafsi is also going against the majority, and stating that Manchester United don’t have a buyback clause in Depay’s contract when his move to Lyon does go through.

Personally, I firmly believe that Memphis Depay was just absolutely desperate for a move away from Old Trafford; and you cannot really blame him. The 22-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game this season and that really is a dramatic fall from grace, given how good he was in his final season at PSV.

I wish him the best of luck, and I’m sure he will do very well with a side who’ll give him plenty of opportunities to thrive, because that’s exactly what he needs.
