‘Manchester United may fall further behind next season’, says club legend

Manchester United’s top four hopes are still alive (somehow), after a 1-0 victory away at Norwich City. After the game, United legend Paul Scholes was discussing the match, and he clearly isn’t happy with where Louis van Gaal is leading his side.

“I think Manchester United may fall further behind next season. They need to change the way they play or change the manager.” Scholes is quoted as telling BT Sport.

This is certainly damning from the former United central midfielder, but you find it hard to disagree with him. Louis van Gaal did exactly what was expected of him last year when the club finished in the top four, but this year has been quite the contrast.

The Dutchman’s side have been putting in far too many turgid performances over the duration of the year, which has led to United looking unlikely to finish in the top four.

A change is certainly needed if Manchester United are to put themselves back on the map, and that decision lies with Edward Woodward; Who himself isn’t doing all that good of a job in the eyes of United’s fans.
