Manchester United are a club in somewhat of a mess at the moment, with players seemingly growing in unhappiness under Louis van Gaal. One man who is ready to walk out on the club he has spent almost ten years at is Michael Carrick, claim The Sun.
Carrick, 34, was a £16million signing back in 2006 and is now into his tenth season at Old Trafford. However he is now open to listen to offers and sign a pre-contract with another club, with interest coming in from Premier League sides as well as the MLS.
It would be a huge shame to lose Carrick, but at 34, he’s certainly coming into the latter stages of his career, and although it would be a shame to see him go, the reasoning behind it makes sense.
He’ll be on high wages, and with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the side, he’ll find his minutes limited going into next season.
