Manchester United monitoring Serie A midfielder, sent scouts to watch: report

Manchester United are monitoring Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to the Daily Mirror, per the Daily Mail.

Apparently, the Red Devils send a  scout to the 22-year-old as Lazio thrashed Steaua Bucharest 5-1 in the Europa League on Thursday. However, the man from Serbia didn’t actually play, as he was an unused substitute.

So far in his fledgeling career, Milinkovic-Savic has netted an impressive nine goals in 32 appearances for the Serie A club, with clubs all across Europe showing an interest in the talented Vojvodina academy product.

It comes as no surprise that the Red Devils are keen on signing a new midfielder, particularly as Marouane Fellaini is yet to sign a new contract, with Michael Carrick also retiring.

Jose Mourinho needs to fill that void, especially if the manager wants to play a three-man midfield; which would get the best out of a certain Paul Pogba.

Milinkovic-Savic would be a wonderful addition. His youthful exuberance would fit perfectly into this Manchester United setup, but the Reds will have to do an awful lot of convincing because no doubt he’d have offers aplenty on the table.
