Manchester united made the move for Nick Powell way back in 2012 now, with the attacking midfielder making an instant impact by scoring on his debut. Since then he has been hit by injury-after-injury and struggled to keep himself fit and involved whatsoever.
Warren Joyce, Manchester United’s U21 manager, has been working closely with the 21-year old, and claimed that he is now in the best shape of his life to date.
“Nick Powell has worked extremely hard. I think, to be fair, he is looking in the best condition he’s ever been in his life.” Warren Joyce said. “There is no doubt how much talent Powell has got. Some of the stuff you see from him is outstanding. He’s a high top-level talent.”
“When he came back here from his loan spells away, I thought he was flying before he got injured. People forget how young he is.”
There is no doubting Nick Powell’s ability on the ball. What does come into question is his horrific injury record. At the moment he doesn’t seem to be able to keep himself fit for any period of time whatsoever, and I just hope that doesn’t see his career cut prematurely.
