Manchester United not for away from completing deal for world-class attacking midfielder: report

Manchester United are not far away from completing a deal to land the world-class Real Madrid playmaker, James Rodriguez. That’s according to the International Business Times. Who adds that the Red Devils are also pursuing Rodriguez’s teammate, Alvaro Morata.

On top of that, they quote Italian news outlet Mediaset Premium, who apparently write that the Colombian has already agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford club.

Jose Mourinho’s men now need to agree upon a fee with Real Madrid to land the 26-year-old, but what a statement of intent it would be if Manchester United can pull it off.

This is a player who has shone at the highest level, and I immediately think of the wonderful tournament he had for his native Colombia at the World Cup back in 2014. However, at Madrid, he has been in and out of the team, and that must have been frustrating for him.

My only concern would be the fact that United are pursuing a deal to bring in the aforementioned Alvaro Morata, and I just cannot see a club as big as Real Madrid willing to sell us two of their stars in the same transfer window – particularly after the whole David de Gea debacle.
