Manchester United are yet to make a dent in their bank account this summer transfer window, with the club not bringing any new players in at this point. That hasn’t stopped the rumours flowing in, however, and the latest names to be linked are Renato Sanches and Douglas Costa.
The Bayern Munich pair have reportedly been told that they can leave the Allianz Arena, according to German media outlet Bild, translated by The Sun.
Bild add that both Manchester United and Chelsea are on alert, clearly because the two Premier League clubs are interested in signing both the midfielder and winger.
Sanches was a player who was heavily linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams last summer, but eventually, the Portuguese midfielder chose the Bavarian club – which is now probably a move that he regrets due to a lack of playing time.
The talent is still quite clearly there, though. We have to remember that he is still just nineteen and he easily has a decade of football ahead of him at the very least. The fee being mentioned to acquire his services in the aforementioned report is £30million. Sanches is a guy I’d love to see United sign, purely because he’d be able to transform our midfield almost single-handedly.
Douglas Costa is another immensely talented individual who just hasn’t had the best of luck with Bayern. I guess a part of that is the fact he has the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery to compete with which wouldn’t be easy.
At 26, he’s approaching his peak years and I feel he’d bring an awful lot to Old Trafford. Bayern are after £35million for his services which in the modern market, that seems rather cheap…
