Manchester United Football Club had a quite brilliant first transfer window under Jose Mourinho, with the Red Devils making some wonderful signings including Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. January was pretty different in that regard, with the gaffer choosing not to invest at all in new faces.
However, the upcoming summer transfer window could well be a busy one, and in an exclusive, the Manchester Evening News say that Manchester United Football Club are on the verge of sealing a huge deal for Antoine Griezmann.
The 25-year-old could cost as much as £86million according to the MEN, but the fee will be no problem for the board at Old Trafford, who are prepared to back our Portuguese boss heavily.
Finally, the report adds that Jose is keen to bring in Griezmann as part of a ‘new-look’ Manchester United attack, with Wayne Rooney set to depart in the summer.
It would be an absolutely brilliant piece of business if Jose Mourinho can pull it off. Griezmann is one of those rare players who’d improve any side in world football, and if he joined United, it’d definitely be time to get excited.
This is a footballer who’s best years are still ahead of him and although he wouldn’t be cheap it would be a real statement of intent.
