Manchester United open to selling brilliant 22-year-old for just £8million: report

A few years ago now, Adnan Januzaj burst onto the scene with two brilliant goals against Sunderland. The supremely talented Belgian became a regular fixture in the starting line-up for the remainder of that campaign under David Moyes.

However, since then it has gone rapidly downhill for the now 22-year-old after a couple of failed loan moves. It seems pretty clear that Jose Mourinho isn’t the biggest fan of Januzaj’s, hence why he allowed him to leave for Sunderland on a season-long loan move.

Now according to ESPN, the Red Devils are open to letting Januzaj leave permanently. The club are expected to ask for a transfer fee in the region of £8-12million, and in my opinion, they’d do very well to get that considering he only has one year left on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams.

During the summer after his breakthrough season, Real Madrid were readying a huge £33million offer to sign Januzaj but obviously, all those approaches were knocked back as he was at the peak of his powers. Now, it looks as though they’ll have to settle for a third of that fee.

Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh? Anyway, I’m pretty gutted about Januzaj’s massive dip in form and confidence. He’s obviously got an abundance of talent but for some reason, he seems to have gone backwards and not forward.

Whoever eventually buys the attacker are getting a seriously good footballer and if he can begin to perform like he did a couple of years ago, then we could see somewhat of a mini rejuvenation from Januzaj. To further add to that, I’d be all for putting some sort of buyback clause in his contract.
