Manchester United Football Club are trying to shift Adnan Januzaj off their books for £8.8million, despite the fact that the Belgian has just twelve months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford. That’s according to English media outlet, the Daily Express.
They say that La Liga side Real Sociedad have shown interest in Januzaj, with the winger falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
He’s 22 now and after a pair of failed loan moves coupled with the fact that he’s probably way down the pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams, a permanent move away makes perfect sense for all involved.
It’s a real shame because in his debut season under David Moyes, Januzaj was simply sensational. He showed a real eye for goal, plenty of pace and some brilliant trickery – but recently, he’s lost all confidence and his ability just looks gone.
He spent this year out on loan at Sunderland and he more than struggled with the Black Cats, despite the fact that he was reunited with the aforementioned Moyes, who gave him his Premier League debut.
Perhaps what Manchester United’s winger needs is a change of scenery, and Sociedad will provide him the perfect opportunity to start afresh. Sometimes, things just don’t work out for one reason or another, and a move away definitely seems like the correct option at this point in time.
