Manchester United outcast yet to make decision on his future: report

Manchester United outcast Luke Shaw is yet to make a firm decision regarding his future, sources have told ESPN.

The 22-year-old has been largely on the periphery of things once again this season, and the fact that he’s considering his place at Old Trafford certainly makes sense.

Shaw has been fully fit for months now, but has been completely left out of United’s last two match-day squads. For whatever reason, you just get the impression that the manager doesn’t fully trust the left-back.

He’s under contract until summer 2019, but I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he left United when the upcoming transfer period gets underway.

I think it spells bad news for you when Ashley Young, who’s now 32, is Mourinho’s clear first-choice in left-back, despite the fact that it isn’t even his natural position.

From a business standpoint, it probably makes a whole lot of sense to sell him now while United can get at least some sort of transfer fee for him. However, they’ll probably lose on the £30million that they acquired him for back in 2014.

Personally, I reckon it makes sense for all involved if he were to leave. His career has completely stagnated here, and I’m sure a mid-level Premier League club would utilise his talents far better.
