Manchester United could be sweating on the fitness of two key players ahead of the game against Everton, as the England pair of Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney have been withdrawn from the squad due to knocks they have picked up.
Wayne Rooney suffered his problem in the 3-0 loss to Arsenal, and Roy Hodgson expected him to pull through and be ready to feature in either game, but that obviously hasn’t happened.
Michael Carrick has a groin problem. He reportedly had a knock before England training this week, but got over it and began training normally again – then he had a recurrence of the injury later on in the week.
Hopefully the pair can get over these little niggling problems and feature for the side against Everton next weekend – particularly Michael Carrick, as Bastian Schweinstieger is also carrying a minor problem.
