Manchester United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at Watford FC, courtesy of a Bastian Schweinsteiger last minute winner. The game wasn’t made any easier by plenty of injuries before the match, and that certainly didn’t ease up throughout the ninety minutes.
After the game, Louis van Gaal confirmed that both Phil Jones and Ander Herrera will both miss the game against PSV Eindhoven this coming Wednesday, but the injuries are thought to be not all that serious.
Its a real shame for Ander Herrera. The Spaniard, who has found his first-team chances hard to come by, laid on a wonderful assist before suffering a hamstring injury which forced him off midway through the first half.
Phil Jones’ injury looked an unfortunate one, but it didn’t look all that serious and he was brought off more as a precaution than any real long-term concern.
