Manchester United plan moves for Benfica duo

Manchester United are widely expected to splash the cash once again next summer, but there are contrasting reports regarding whether or not they’ll bring new faces through the Old Trafford doors when the January window opens. According to the Daily Star, moves for a pair of Benfica players could well be on the cards.

Enzo Perez and Nico Gaitan are close to agreeing moves that’ll take them to Manchester in January, for a combined fee of £51million. Perez is an Argentine central midfielder who has been in fine form for his club so far this season. He’d certainly bring pace and ability to a rather static Manchester United midfield, and he’d be linking up with Argentine compatriots such as Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo.

Nico Gaitan is also an Argentinian international, and United fans will remember the name after he was linked with a move to United a couple of years ago when Fergie was in charge. The attacking midfielder hasn’t really kicked on since then, but he must be doing enough to impress Louis van Gaal.

Would these two be worth the money? Leave you’re thoughts in the comment box below.
