Manchester United plotting £70million raid for Ligue 1 star midfielder – report

Manchester United are in a good place right now, with Jose Mourinho’s men on a sixteen game unbeaten streak across all competitions. Despite that, they still sit in sixth place in the league, and any title charge looks beyond them this season. Now, it looks as though planning for next term is already being done.

In an exclusive, The Sun say that Manchester United are plotting a huge £70million summer raid for AS Monaco’s star playmaker Bernardo Silva. The 22-year-old Portuguese player has been plying his trade in Ligue 1 for four years now, and is rapidly making a real name for himself out there.

Silva already has over 154 competitive games of domestic football under his belt, and his talents have already been recognised by his country too, with ten full caps already earned.

Acquiring Silva’s signature will not only be expensive, but it won’t be easy either as the report adds that Real Madrid are also keen.

His style of play will be one that Jose Mourinho is attracted to as he is a hard worker with a real eye for a pass. Bernardo Silva could be the final piece of the jigsaw that Manchester United need for them to succeed next campaign.
