Manchester United’s move for Paul Pogba is rumbling on, and it seems as though with each passing hour, we’re given another update as to where things are at. The latest bit of information comes from a reliable form in Gianluca Di Marzio, and it could be seen as a blow.
The Italian journalist says that Juventus’ rumoured big-money move for Gonzalo Higuain has no bearing on whether Paul Pogba will make the move to Manchester United.
That means that the Italian champions are under no financial pressure to sell their prized asset in the 23-year-old midfielder, whether or not they secure a deal for Higuain.
It’s clear that Juve do want to keep hold of the Frenchman at all costs, but money does talk. Manchester United are one of the powerhouses of the game despite the lack of Champions League football, and you do feel with their financial muscle, Pogba’s head will be turned eventually.
Hopefully, this deal can go through, but I’m not going out and getting Pogba’s name on the back of a jersey anytime soon…
