Manchester United fans could well be about to get their wish regarding Wayne Rooney. The current captain of the Red Devils has had an extremely poor start to the season, and that has led to many players questioning his inclusion in the side.
Now it looks as though his place in the starting line-up at Old Trafford is in jeopardy, and the IB Times say that the 30-year old is set to be dropped by Jose Mourinho for the weekend game against Leicester City.
Rooney’s performance against Watford on Sunday pretty much summed his last twelve months up. He looked totally off the pace throughout and was always just one or two steps off of where he was supposed to be.
It has been a real shame to watch such a drastic fall from grace of such an outstanding professional, but perhaps it is time to give him some time on the bench and see if he can rediscover that hunger.
His inclusion in the starting line-up against Northampton Town would also back that point up.
