The January transfer window opens shortly, with Louis van Gaal set to do his best to bring in new faces to try and guide United to a second half of the season title surge. According to the Daily Mail, the Iron Tulip is clearly looking at more youthful options, rather than proven quality.
The English publication go on to say that Manchester United are pressing ahead with discussions to bring the young American defender, Matthew Olosunde to the club.
Olosunde has been training with Manchester United on and off over the last few months, and Louis van Gaal is preparing to offer him a contract subject to international clearance and a work permit.
The 17-year old is predominantly a centre-back, but he is also capable of playing right-back, where he has thoroughly impressed for his club and country at youth levels.
