Manchester United are prioritising a summer move for Alex Sandro, whom Jose Mourinho sees as the ideal replacement for Luke Shaw.
That’s what the Manchester Evening News says anyway and they add that the self-proclaimed Special One has cooled his interest in Danny Rose, while being prepared to allow Kieran Tierney to move to another Premier League club.
Brazil international Sandro has greatly impressed for Juventus over the last two years, largely due to his influence on both sides of the ball. Not only is he a solid defender, but the left-back has an excellent left-peg on him, too, meaning he’s a real menace when it comes to delivering delightful balls into the box.
We all know Mourinho loves experience, and at 27, Sandro would bring that in abundance.
The aforementioned report also states that United could well offer Matteo Darmian in a player-plus-cash deal, meaning the Red Devils would save themselves some money if the transfer were to go through.
It seems like the ideal move for all parties. United are getting a superstar left-back, Juventus would acquire a direct replacement and the players involved would all get transfers that they seemingly want. I’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on this rumour over the summer…
