Manchester United quoted £25million to land fifth summer signing before deadline

Manchester United Football Club have had a hectic transfer window, with Jose Mourinho splurging close to £150million to mould the squad in his image. The bulk of that went on Paul Pogba, who cost the Old Trafford club £89million – a world record fee.

Despite Jose Mourinho constantly stating that United’s business is done for the summer, links and reports suggesting otherwise constantly seem to be popping up in the media.

The latest news comes out of France and L’Equipe (translated via talkSPORT), and they say that Manchester United are keen on AS Monaco right-back Fabinho – but he’d cost somewhere around the £25million mark.

This rumour does seem a bit odd, especially given the simply stunning form of Antonio Valencia at the moment who is playing out of his skin. On top of the Ecuadorian, United have Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Matteo Darmian waiting in the wings.

However, Jose’s mind is already proving tough to read and you wouldn’t put it past him if he decides to bring in Brazilian Fabinho before next weeks deadline.
