Manchester United are quickly closing in on a deal to secure their second incoming player of the summer, and it comes right from the horses mouth. Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that United have significantly improved their offer, and the situation has changed.
“We’re now at a different starting position because Manchester United have significantly improved their offer.” Watzke began. “I have already contacted the appropriate people and we will confer at the weekend with all the pros and cons. It’s also important for me to get a broad opinion, and the management will decide that.”
Sky Sports say that Manchester United’s offer for Mkhitaryan is currently £26.3million, which is brilliant value for a player of his calibre. You also feel that Borussia Dortmund themselves are getting a fair fee, particularly when you factor in that the Armenian has just one year left on his current deal.
Last season was an excellent campaign for Mkhitaryan, and United are getting a player who’ll not only score goals but lay on assists aplenty for his teammates too. Figures of twenty goals and twenty assists back that up brilliantly, and personally, I’m looking forward to see him in action for us.
