Jose Mourinho ready to make move for world-class 26-year-old attacker: report

Jose Mourinho is keen on making a move for Leicester City attacker, Riyad Mahrez, according to SFR Sport, translated by The Metro. The former PFA Player of the Year hasn’t had as much success since The Foxes title-winning campaign two seasons ago now.

The self-proclaimed Special One is clearly keen on signing the Algeria international, however, the aforementioned report reckons the board don’t agree with the manager; and won’t sanction a move for the world-class 26-year-old.

Apparently, Mourinho was given £150million to spend this summer and that’s already gone – that’s why the board aren’t ready to give him even more of a transfer budget.

I’m a huge fan of Mahrez’s and on his day, he’s right up there with the best wingers in the country. However, I’m just not sure as to why we’ve left it so late to let our interest in him be known.

There is less than 48 hours left in the window now and time is running out quickly. I honestly cannot see Leicester letting such a key player go at this time because they’d struggle to replace him so late on.

Personally, I’d like us to sanction whatever it takes to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal instead, with City making a late push to sign the Chilean.
