Manchester United Football Club have made one defensive signing already this summer, with Jose Mourinho bringing in Victor Lindelof from SL Benfica. However, it doesn’t look as though the self-proclaimed Special One is to stop there, if reports from The Sun as per the Daily Mirror are to be believed.
The man in question is Celtic’s Kieran Tierney. The young man has really burst onto the scene recently, and has become a prominent member of the starting XI for both club and country in Scotland.
Tierney is quick, intelligent and excellent on both sides of the ball. He can defend well, whilst also offering his team another dimension when going forward.
Our left-back spot last season became somewhat of a problem area. It felt like Luke Shaw was constantly injured, Daley Blind just doesn’t suit that role, Marcos Rojo is better as a centre-back and Matteo Darmian is naturally a right-sided player.
There is definitely a gap in the market for someone to come in and make that jersey their own, and for me, Tierney could be a brilliant signing. The report claims that the Old Trafford club are willing to pay £15million to land his services, which would be an awful lot of money for The Bhoys, and perhaps they may find it too good to turn down.
