Manchester United ready to ‘accelerate’ David de Gea contract talks

Manchester United sealed a deal for the three-time Champions League winner Victor Valdes yesterday, which obviously raised concerns about the future of our current #1 David de Gea. According to the Daily Mail, United are ready to step up contract talks with the 24-year old, which is great news.

Our Spaniard has been in superb form this season, singlehandedly winning Manchester United football matches. It’d be a travesty if we didn’t offer him hue amounts of money to stay at Old Trafford, and hopefully he’ll be more than happy to sign on the dotted line.

The Mail go on to say that he and his family are settled in Manchester and aren’t ready to return to Spain just yet, which is another little boost in itself.

It must be tough to turn Real Madrid down if they come calling though, and you’d understand him if he did switch the Red of United for the White of Real.

Louis van Gaal has certainly not wanted to praise David de Gea post-match too much, which is a bit of a concern. Maybe he knows something we don’t, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
