The board at Manchester United are clearly planning for a hectic summer schedule, particularly after failing to invest in the January window. Whether or not Louis van Gaal is the manager remains to be seen, but they’ll be a list of targets nonetheless.
One man on that list is Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, who could well walk out on his current side and join one of the big spending Premier League clubs this summer, as he is yet to agree a new contract in the Spanish capital.
The Spanish media outlet AS say that Manchester United are amongst the frontrunners to activate Saul’s rather low €24million buyout clause, which could see the talented 21-year old switch sunny Spain for rainy Manchester during the next transfer window.
Manchester United are well known for nurturing hot talents and turning them into world beaters, and Saul clearly has the potential to go a long way in that game. If we land his signature, it will be another chance for the club to show exactly why they have these proud traditions of sticking with youth.
