It feels as though the transfer window has only just closed, but the ridiculous rumours have already begun. According to The Mirror, Manchester United are ready to make an audacious £90million move to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford next summer.
Earlier in the week, Guillem Balague said that Ronaldo ‘dreams’ of a return to Manchester United, but this is a move I just cannot see happening, unless Real Madrid want him gone.
Ronaldo, 30, left Manchester United for £80million as he secured a dream move to Real Madrid, and he has won all there is to be won in Spain. He seems happy there, scoring every week and breaking records for fun.
I just cannot see Manchester United sanctioning a £90million move for a 30-year old who is fast approaching the end of his peak years. It would be special to see him back in the fiery red jersey of our club, but it’d be a move purely based on sentiment rather than footballing ability.
