Manchester United ready to make January move for long-term target – report

Manchester United Football Club are clearly desperate to bring in new faces in the January transfer window, with Louis van Gaal’s job certainly on the line at this point. The Dutchman has identified several targets, and he is looking to rival Liverpool for the signature of a key figure.

The news comes from the Daily Telegraph, who say Louis van Gaal and Jurgen Klopp are set to go head-to-head with each other to bring Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura into the Premier League mid-season.

United have been in for Lucas before, but eventually he chose to go to Ligue 1 instead, but after being left on the fringes for the majority, he is now ready to move on.

£22million is a big gamble though, but its one that Manchester United simply have to take at the moment, and it could certainly be worth it if Louis van Gaal’s side can push for the title.
