Manchester United are ready to offer huge financial incentives to three key Tottenham Hotspur players this summer.
That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, per the Daily Star, who state that Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Eric Dier would be offered deals by Manchester United.
Apparently, Spurs players have had to cope with being paid far less than their Premier League rivals due to financial restrictions at the club, and now Jose Mourinho is clearly doing all he can to acquire some of Tottenham’s top players.
You cannot blame the United gaffer for doing exactly that. Spurs do have some brilliant footballers on their books and the aforementioned trio would all improve the Red Devils.
The most pressing matter has to be acquiring a new centre-half, particularly someone who can come in and partner Eric Bailly at the back. Alderweireld would be a wonderful addition.
Then you have the left-back position. Ashley Young has done great but he’s certainly not a long-term solution. For whatever reason, Mourinho doesn’t fully trust Luke Shaw, so bringing in Rose makes a lot of sense.
Finally the midfield. Personally, I’m not an Eric Dier fan, but with Marouane Fellaini yet to commit to a new contract and Michael Carrick hanging up his boots, United certainly need at least one new midfielder if only to make up the numbers.
