Manchester United ready to revive interest in world class 27-year-old – report

It feels like the January transfer window has only just closed, but that hasn’t stopped the mainstream media going into overdrive regarding Manchester United’s upcoming summer targets. The latest report comes from the usually reliable Independent newspaper, who say Jose wants to go big…

They say that the Red Devils are ready to revive interest in Real Madrid central midfielder, Toni Kroos. The report adds that Jose Mourinho is ready to test the resolve of the Spanish club when the summer transfer window officially opens.

Furthermore, they say it was only in 2013 when Manchester United felt they had a deal done for Kroos, only for the 27-year-old to end up moving to the Santiago Bernabeu instead.

Personally, I’d love to see Toni Kroos come in. He’s a man right at the top of his game at the moment, approaching the peak years of his footballing career. Imagine just how deadly he could be in a trio alongside both Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera – they’d wreak havoc.

Would he come cheap? Certainly not, but as we saw when Paul Pogba came in, Manchester United are prepared to spend big on the right player. In my opinion, it’ll be tough to get the move over the line, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out.
