Manchester United’s squad overhaul is well underway by Jose Mourinho, with the new manager looking to bring in new faces before the season kicks off in just a few weeks. However, alongside that, players will have to leave in order to keep the squad at a reasonable size.
According to The Sun, James Wilson is ready to leave Manchester United this summer, on either a permanent or loan deal.
At this point in time the likely option is a loan move to Championship side Fulham, allowing him regular game time to develop and progress as a player.
Wilson has fallen down the pecking order quite dramatically over the last few years. In Ryan Giggs’ short tenure, Wilson looked like a real prospect. Since then though, he has struggled to acquit himself and tie down a place in the squad.
Now he’s even behind William Keane in terms of strikers, with Keane going on pre-season tour whilst Wilson has been left in Manchester.
