Manchester United receive double injury boost as key pair return to full training: report

Manchester United receive a double major injury boost; just days before the Red Devils take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

The usually excellent David McDonnell, who writes for the Daily Mirror, is claiming that both Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia are back in full training; as they’re both poised to make a return.

Matic and Valencia became key players for Jose Mourinho in his second season. Having them both back gives us two positions in the team that we can totally count upon 100% of the time.

Right-back, particularly with Matteo Darmian as the first-choice in Valencia’s absence, is a massive concern. Hopefully, the man from Ecuador gets himself back to 100% fitness pretty quickly; we’re absolutely desperate for his experience back there.

As for Matic, we all know his talents. Andreas Pereira will no doubt be looking over his shoulder, though, particularly after a sub-par display against Brighton last time out.

Both haven’t had any pre-season whatsoever. It may well take them a week or two to get fully back up to speed. Thankfully, the international break is just on the horizon, so with a bit of luck, they’ll be back ready to play following that…
