Manchester United reject £13million offer for talented 22-year-old – report

Manchester United have already made one big-name sale during this window, with Morgan Schneiderlin joining Everton on a permanent deal. Jose Mourinho has also sanctioned a couple of loan moves away, but we could be set for another outgoing deal if the right offer comes in.

The man in question is none other than Memphis Depay, who hasn’t really played all that much for Manchester United this season. Now, the Daily Mail say that the Red Devils have rejected a £13million bid for the 22-year-old, as French side Lyon look to try and secure his services.

In the report, the Mail add that Manchester United are holding out for closer to £17.5million for the Dutchman who has disappointed here, but is still young enough to make a go of life in professional football.

At the end of the day, he is quite clearly talented, and his final season at PSV before he moved to the Premier League backs that up. Sadly, the task at hand just seems like it always has been too big for him, and maybe he needed something else as a stepping stone before moving here.

I think it’s good for everyone involved if he does leave, but you just know he’ll likely come back to haunt us one day…
