The transfer season has begun, with Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his squad and probably quite significantly. That’s because we now have Champions League football on the table, and we’d also like to finish higher than sixth in the Premier League.
As for rumours, they’ll be plenty. However, today, the Manchester Evening News say that AS Monaco’s Bernardo Silva has arrived in Manchester, and he got here last night. Although they add that it is unclear as to which team he is here to see, be it United or City.
It wasn’t that long ago when Jose Mourinho’s team were heavily linked to the Portuguese attacker, and we all know just how quickly the manager loves to go about his business.
At just 22, Silva was one of a whole crop of supremely talented individuals who won the Ligue 1 this campaign, and there is no doubting that he would add some much-needed creativity to our starting line-up.
Manchester United never really had a nailed on left-winger for the majority of the campaign, and that has been Silva’s position for the most part out in France. You’d imagine that is where the gaffer would see his long-term future.
Let’s just hope now that he is here to see us rather than City, but it should be an interesting few days…
Update: Manchester City are current favourites at the moment, as per the MEN.
