Manchester United reveal why key duo missed Liverpool away game last night

Manchester United’s 0-0 draw at Anfield was widely regarded as a point gained rather than two dropped, particularly given the form both clubs were in going into the game. On the whole, we have to be pleased with the result, and see it as a real positive going forward.

Things could’ve been oh so different however, if only Jose Mourinho had a couple of key players available for the game; Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Manchester United have confirmed the pair both missed the trip to Liverpool due to injuries suffered in training on Saturday, but neither at thought to be too serious.

We haven’t seen all that much of Morgan Schneiderlin so far this season, and it does seem a bit odd considering you feel he is the perfect player in a Jose Mourinho side.

Anthony Martial’s absence was an even bigger blow. His pace and electricity would’ve been a real asset on the counter attack, and he always chips in with a goal on the biggest of occasions. Perhaps if he was fit we’d be celebrating all three points rather than just the one…
