Arsenal are set to rival Manchester United in the race to sign Nice midfielder, Jean-Michael Seri, according to The Sun, per the Daily Mirror.
Apparently, Seri can leave the Ligue 1 side for as little as £35million due to a release clause, with Arsene Wenger set to join Jose Mourinho in the chase to land the Ivory Coast star.
Honestly, it comes as no surprise that United are trying to sign Seri. The midfield has been the problem are for Mourinho all season, and signing someone who can free up Paul Pogba would go an awfully long way towards solving those issues.
Seri is great with the ball at his feet, energetic when tracking back and he’ll cause problems for his opponents due to his intelligence and footballing brain. A three including him, Pogba and Matic sounds great on paper, and the £35million transfer fee seems relatively cheap in this day and age.
At 26, this is a player who’s approaching his prime, which should be seen as a positive. Rather than Mourinho having to nurture and harness a young talent, he’ll be getting his hands on a player who’s ready to come in and play high-level football from the get-go.
