After failing to acquire the signature of Spanish starlet Ander Herrera in the summer, Manchester United look set to rekindle their interest in the box-to-box midfielder a year onwards. SuperDeporte claim that the Reds had scouts in the stand to watch the 24-year old play at the weekend.
The Spaniard was part of the Bilbao side that demolished us in the Europa League a couple of years ago, and he certainly plays football the right way. He has excellent vision, isn’t afraid to run with the ball and also has an eye for a pass; The perfect midfielder for United.
It took Herrera a while to sort his form out after the rumoured transfer last summer, but after the turn of the year he has been back to his brilliant best. He’s certainly a player that we should be looking at, and the chances are that he won’t make Spain’s World Cup squad so that won’t hamper any potential move.
Ander has featured eighty-nine times for Basque side Bilbao, scoring six goals in the process.
