Manchester United see their €40m Khedira bid turned down

Reports in both Spain and England are suggesting that Manchester United have seen their €40m bid for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira rejected by the Spanish side. Madrid aren’t looking to sell the 26-year old midfielder, most likely because of the injury to Xabi Alonso and the fact they have no time to sort out a replacement.

Madrid have also only just sold fellow German international Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Khedira has become an integral part of Real’s starting line-up since his big money move from Stuttgart back in 2010. The midfielder is also a mainstay in the German national team.

The worrying thing about this, is that United have probably made this bid because one, or both of the Fellaini and Herrera deals have fallen through.
