Manchester United send scout to watch Spanish midfielder in Europa League – report

The January transfer window is almost upon us, and although it is notoriously hard for luring new players due to the clubs unwillingness to sell, Louis van Gaal clearly isn’t giving up. The latest report comes out of Switzerland, who say United sent their German scout to a Europa League clash on Thursday.

Blick (Swiss Newspaper), say that Manchester United had Peter Braund at the game between FC Basel and Fiorentina, watching the experienced central midfielder Borja Valero.

Valero has been plying his trade in the Serie A for three years following a move from Sevilla, and has been playing extremely well for the Florence-based side.

United certainly need more depth in midfield, and Valero would almost definitely improve our side significantly.

Personally I feel that Borja Valero is one of the most underrated midfielders in the game at the moment. He’s the perfect box-to-box option who doesn’t mind doing the dirty jobs as well as creating chances, and he’d be a fantastic addition to any team.
