Manchester United send scouts to European game to watch starlet – report

Manchester United’s struggles have been well documented of late, and that form could tempt Louis van Gaal into splashing the cash this January, in order to turn fortunes around. That has led to a whole host of players being linked with Old Trafford moves, and the latest one comes out of Portugal.

The reports coming out of the aforementioned country say that Manchester United had scouts present at Benfica’s 1-0 victory over V.Guimarães on Saturday night. The player they were primarily there to look at was Goncalo Guedes, but he was an unused substitute on the night. However Renato Sanches Man of the Match performance did not go unnoticed.

Sanches, 18, is a young midfielder who broke through into the first-team this term, and is having a fantastic time of late. Guedes, 19 is also from Portugal, but he is a winger.

Its all well and good looking at these young talents, but there is no guarantee these types of players will come in and succeed.
