Manchester United send scouts to watch Bundesliga centre-back

Manchester United Football Club have been hit and miss at times this season, particularly in the bread and butter that is the Premier League. Louis van Gaal may struggle to keep his job beyond the summer, but despite that, he is already making plans in terms of transfers.

According to the German media outlet Kicker, Manchester United have sent scouts to extensively watch Bayer Leverkusen centre-back, Omer Toprak.

The 26-year old has been playing in the Bundesliga since 2011, and has certainly nailed down a regular starting job whilst in Leverkusen. Since his time with the German side he has also been in and out of the Turkish national team, having amassed over twenty appearances for his country.

Despite not even being anywhere close to peak age for a defender, Toprak certainly has plenty of football under his belt and he’d provide some much-needed experience in a key area of the field.

Leverkusen certainly wouldn’t let him go on the cheap however, and Edward Woodward would certainly have to splash some of Manchester United’s cash.
