Manchester United send Wayne Rooney to hospital for scan after he limps out of training

Wayne Rooney is almost certain to miss the Sunderland game this weekend, as Manchester United have sent the striker to hospital for a scan. The 28-year old limped out of training today, and according to the usually reliable Telegraph newspaper.

Just when you think United’s injury concerns are easing up, another blow is dealt, this time in the form of our best player this season. With the World Cup just over a month away, England fans will be concerned that Rooney has picked up his usual pre-tournament injury problem that’ll probably mean he won’t enter the tournament with full fitness.

It seems to me that Wayne Rooney always has these little niggles that prevent him from reaching his full potential. Whether thats due to his stocky frame, his playing style or his personal habits we’ll never know. I just hope this one isn’t too serious for England’s sake.
